Work Diary
In todays photography session, I decided to take a camera out into town for an unplanned photo-shoot for my fifth photo-shoot. My main focus whilst walking around public was to photograph mostly ageing people to show how they've changed in their own personal life. I also decided to take photos of people on their work stations on the town streets or the people who play instruments in public for money. Once I took these photo's onto photoshop, I decided to convert them all to black and white for a more ageing look to them. The positive outcome from todays photo-shoot was that many people gave me permission to take close up portraits of their face. The only negative factor of this photo-shoot was due to the raining weather, not a lot of people were in town. As an improvement for my next photo-shoot, I should choose to do this on a day with more sunshine and less cloud.
My two selected photographs:
This is my first selected photograph in the personal life section. In this photograph we can see can see a black and white photograph of an old women standing with her little trolley and gloves. She is also shown to be slightly smiling with her eyes shut, while the sign behind her says Lifeskills. The positive point of this photograph is the life skills sign is shown behind her, this is a positive factor because it matches extremely well with the way she looks and how old she actually is. The negative factor is the reflection against the window, this is a negative factor because it becomes a main distraction in the photograph. An improvement I could make to this photograph, would be to try and clone over the reflection.
This is my second selected photograph in my fifth photo-shoot. In this photograph, we can see a man playing an instrument in public passionately. The photo is also shown in black and white which creates an olden look. The positive point of this photograph is the background is subtly blurred, this is a positive factor because it creates the main figure / model to really stand out in the photograph which creates it eye-catching and breath-taking. I believe that this photograph does not have a negative factor or improvement to reveal.
Further improvement:
For my further improvement, I would take the second selected photograph and create a collage of cut outs in certain areas for either my physical experiment or print technique as a cluster.
