Lost In The Forest - Work Diary.

Work Diary

In todays photography session, I decided to find a model who owned a big Lolita styled dress before adventuring out to the local forest to take some fantasy photo's which would fit into fairytale. When adventuring into the forest, we found a small waterfall with stepping stones which made an excellent scenery for the photoshoot. I found this photo-shoot experimental and a lot different from previous shoots in the studio. The positive outcome with this photo-shoot was the scenery which really shown a fairytale. The only negative outcome I had in this photo-shoot was the poor lighting in the forest. As an improvement, for if I used a location shoot again, would be too pick a place with more lighting than the darker areas.

My two selected photographs:

This is my first selected photograph in my fourth photoshoot. In this photograph, we can see a model sitting on a rock beside broken stones while a waterfall is shown by her feet. Her outfit is also seen to be big and fairytale like. The positive point of this photograph is the scenery, this is a positive factor because it manipulates the audience into believing that this whole situation is actually a fairytale that they're watching. The negative point of this photograph is the slope in the background, this is a negative factor because it's a distraction from the model, which creates the fairytale feeling to fall apart. An improvement I would make to this photo, is too crop that section out.

This is my second selected photograph from my fourth photoshoot. In this photograph we can see a young female model standing against a darkened forest background whilst she wears an outstanding fairytale like dress. The positive point of this photograph is the contrast between the dress colour and the background colour, this is a positive factor because it draws in an extreme amount of attention to the focus point of the photograph for the audience. I believe that this photograph does not have a negative factor or improvement to reveal.

Further development:
For my further development, I would like to take my first selected photograph and use it as a physical experiment. To make this my physical experiment, I will apply fairytale titles and an authors name across the photograph, to make it look like a fairytale book cover.
